Image editing guide

Edit and prepare photos locally

Learn how GeckoShareSafe helps you edit photos locally without uploading them, protect private details and export a new image copy while leaving your original file unchanged.

What editing tools can I use before saving?

You can crop, rotate and flip, apply filters and image adjustments, remove or replace the background, add privacy areas, captions and text or logo watermarks, then choose the finished file format.

How do I add text, a caption or a watermark to a photo?

Add captions to individual formats and control their font, size, rotation, colour, bold, italic, panel, drop shadow and outline. Watermarks can use text or a transparent logo with signature, protective or repeated layouts.

How do I blur part of a picture?

Choose the privacy-area tool, add an area and drag it over the detail you want to hide. Resize or rotate it as needed, then select blur and adjust the blur amount.

Your image stays on your device. Your original is never changed.

Which image formats can GeckoShareSafe open and save?

Convert can open JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP, TIFF and HEIC/HEIF. It can save JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP or TIFF; HEIC/HEIF is input only. Share Safe accepts JPG, PNG, WebP and BMP and offers the same six output formats.

Can I use GeckoShareSafe offline?

Yes, after the app’s core files have been cached by the browser. Features that use a local AI model become available offline after that model has also been downloaded and cached at least once.
