Gecko Art Studio
About GeckoShareSafe and your privacy
GeckoShareSafe is a free, local-first browser tool for preparing images for social media without sending the image to an editing service.
Local processing
Image editing takes place inside your browser on this device.
No account
The free tool does not require registration, sign-in or a subscription.
Original protected
Your original file is not overwritten. Finished images are saved as new files.
Who created it?
GeckoShareSafe was created by Gecko Art Studio. The goal is to make common publishing tasks—cropping, resizing, hiding sensitive details, adding captions and applying watermarks—available in one clear workflow.
Why is it free?
GeckoShareSafe was created as a useful, privacy-friendly tool and as a way for Gecko Art Studio to learn whether people want a more advanced image-preparation application. Processing takes place on your device, so the free version does not require expensive image-processing servers or cloud storage.
Share Safe and Convert are free and require no account. Batch is a preview in this browser.
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 10 September 2026
This policy covers the GeckoShareSafe browser tool, Windows desktop app and optional Batch Premium upgrade, published by Gecko Art Studio. The browser-specific information below also forms part of this policy.
Why local processing?
Images can contain personal material, private surroundings and embedded information about where or how a photograph was taken. A local-first design avoids transferring the working image to GeckoShareSafe for editing. The browser reads the file you select, creates a working copy in memory and performs the requested image operations on the device.
The image itself is not uploaded to GeckoShareSafe. When you save a finished image, your browser writes the newly created file to the location you choose.
What is stored on the device?
- The current image and its project edits are held locally while you work.
- If you choose a reusable watermark logo, GeckoShareSafe stores that logo in this browser on this device. You can remove it from the watermark controls, and clearing the browser's site data also removes it.
- If your browser supports local-font access and you choose to use it, the browser may ask for permission before showing fonts installed on the device.
What does metadata removal do?
Private metadata is removed from saved copies.
Metadata removal does not inspect the visible picture. A street sign, document, face, vehicle registration, computer screen or home interior can still reveal private information. Review the image and use blur, pixelation or a solid cover where necessary.
What does the website connection receive?
Your browser must connect to the web server to load the GeckoShareSafe page, stylesheet, scripts and public images. Like an ordinary website request, the hosting provider may process technical connection information such as an IP address, browser details and request time. The photograph selected inside the editor is not included in those page requests.
If you use the Support form, the name, email address and message you submit are sent through the website server to Gecko Art Studio by email so we can respond. Do not include passwords, financial information or image files.
What GeckoShareSafe does not promise
- It cannot guarantee that every visible private detail has been noticed.
- It cannot control how a social platform stores, recompresses or uses an image after you upload it there.
- It cannot restore detail that was absent from a small or heavily compressed source image.
Windows app: local files and deletion
The Windows app processes selected photos, metadata, logos and backgrounds on your computer. It can save a recoverable editing session, styles and preferences locally. Session files can contain image copies. The local data folder is shown under Help and information, Privacy. Close the app before deleting that folder. Delete exported images separately. Folders synchronized by OneDrive or other software may be uploaded by that software according to your settings.
Browser preferences and offline files
The browser stores your language preference, reusable watermark logo and cached application files on your device. Clear this website's site data to remove them. Exported images remain wherever you saved them. GeckoShareSafe does not provide cloud image storage or an image-upload service.
Microsoft Store purchases
The optional Windows Batch upgrade uses Microsoft Store. Microsoft handles the account and payment transaction under its own privacy terms. The app checks the Store licence to determine whether Batch is unlocked; it does not receive your payment-card details. Purchase and licence checks require communication with Microsoft. Browser Batch preview does not require a purchase.
Security and service providers
Local files rely on the security of your device and any folders you synchronize. Website and support-form connections use HTTPS. The hosting and email providers handle connection details and support correspondence to operate these services. The support form also uses hashed IP addresses, hashed email addresses and request timestamps to limit spam. These records are separate from your selected images.
Your choices and privacy requests
You choose which images to open, where to save copies and whether to contact support. You can delete your local files and browser site data. For access, correction or deletion of personal information held by Gecko Art Studio, or other rights available under applicable law, use the Support form and describe your request. We cannot delete copies you have shared with another service. You may also contact your local data-protection authority.
Support emails are deleted as soon as they have been answered. For privacy questions or requests to access, correct or delete personal information, use the Support form.
